  • THE HISTORY OF THE COLOSSEUM. PERMANENT EXHIBITION ON THE HISTORY OF THE FLAVIAN AMPHITHEATER

    The archeological Park of the Colosseum opens the permanent exhibition to the great national and international public The Colosseum tells. Colosseum, visitors record on 2018.

    The initiative, realized in collaboration with the Germanic Archeological institute in Rome and the university of the Studies in Rome Tre, it finally equips the Colosseum with an ample didactic apparatus that revisits the salient moments of his/her history, beyond the bloody shows gladiatòri. The exhibition follows the extraordinary success of the show Colosseum. An icon very appreciated by million of travellers that for the first time they discovered the manifold lives of the monument. Along 12 arcades of the II I level the visitor will be able to revisit the whole story of the amphitheater of the emperors: from the construction up to the beginnings of the Nine hundred, to finish with one dollied of images on the Colosseum become universal icon

    THE VERY ESSENCE OF WARHOL ON SHOW AT THE VITTORIANO.
    An exhibition of over 170 works traces the extraordinary life of one of the most acclaimed artists in history.

    On 3 October an exhibition devoted entirely to the Warhol legend to mark the 90th anniversary of his birth, opens in Rome in theBrasini Wing of the Victor Emmanuel Monument.

    The exhibition starts from the artistic origins of Pop Art: in 1962 the genius from Pittsburgh started creating the silk-screen prints of theCampbell’s Soup series, taking cans of soup from supermarket shelves and placing them on the high altar of art.
    Series on Elvis, Marilyn and Coca-Cola followed. Warhol was drawn to objects that bridged the gap between rich and poor.In 1969 he founded Interview, a magazine about celebrity, perhaps Warhol’s only true great obsession. In the mid-seventies he painted non-stop, working from Polaroids to create portraits of the many famous people who continued to fill the Factory: Liz Taylor, Sylvester Stallone, John Wayne, Liza Minnelli, Valentino, Armani, Caroline of Monaco andMichael Jackson.During the seventies and eighties, he was known as the most prolific and famous living artist, an icon who had an extraordinary life, one of the greatest revolutionaries in the artistic and cultural life of all time.
